- 21 79¢ + 21¢ = 100¢
- 1/6 1 sandwich shared by 6 owls = 1/6 each

How to use the sheet
- One problem at a time. Read it aloud together. Ask what the story is about before any numbers.
- Use the hint, not the answer. Each problem has the question Kizupi asks a stuck child. It never gives the answer away.
- Ask “how do you know?” after every answer, right or wrong. Explaining is the point.
- Same link, same sheet. The grade and sheet number at the bottom bring it back, so a sibling or a second try gets the same problems.
What is on each sheet
8 word problems for the grade you pick, each from a different skill where the grade has enough, such as two-step problems, place value, fractions of a number or the mean. Only problems that work on paper are used: nothing that needs a picture to count or a clock to read. The problems come from the same published set children meet in Kizupi’s lessons, which must pass the math engine’s checks before release.
