About us
Hi! We’re Kizupi.
Kizupi is a free math tutor app that coaches children to reason through word problems, pictures and early algebra, for kids in Grades 1–6 and the grown-ups who help them learn.
Our story
Kizupi started with a simple belief: a tutor should notice how a child thinks, not just whether the answer is right. The name comes from kizuki, Japanese for noticing something new, which is the moment an idea clicks.
We’re a small, independent team that loves a good puzzle. People write every line Kizupi says, and a person reads every message sent to us.

What makes Kizupi different
Plenty of apps can quiz a child. Kizupi is built to teach them to think.
-
It asks why, not just “what’s the answer?”
Drill apps like IXL and Prodigy are built around answering lots of questions. Kizupi slows down on purpose: it asks “how do you know?” and listens, because reasoning is what carries into the next grade.
-
It never hands over the answer
Photomath and AI chatbots can give a finished solution. Kizupi climbs a 7-step hint ladder instead, and a math engine, not a chatbot, checks every answer.
-
It’s free, with nothing to buy
IXL and Prodigy charge for full access. Kizupi is $0 for every family, with every grade, lesson and world included and no ads.
-
It’s private by design
Children never make an account: a parent adds a nickname, a grade and a pixel animal. No birthday, photo, surname, school or location, and families can delete everything at any time.
Come say hello.
